MIGRAINE AND ITS AYURVEDIC TREATMENT

INTRODUCTION
Migraine is a disorder which is characterized by pulsating and throbbing pain in head. It is a type of neurological disorder and usually occurs in one side of the head. The pain is so severe that it is often accompanied with nausea, vomiting, increased sensitivity to sound and light. A migraine attack lasts from a few hours to a few days. The associated symptoms of migraine are known as aura. They occur before the onset of headache. It can interfere in the daily activities of an individual.
With oral medications, the symptoms can be decreased or prevented. However, healthy eating and healthy lifestyle can help a lot.
WHAT ARE THE CAUSES OF MIGRAINE?
Migraine has not known specific cause but it is believed to occur because of changes in the brainstem and its interactions with the trigeminal nerve. There may occur changes in the levels of serotonin which helps in regulation of pain signals in nervous system.
WHAT ARE THE RISK FACTORS OF MIGRAINE?
There are some factors which increase the risk of a person developing migraine. Following are some of the risk factors of migraine:

WHAT ARE THE TRIGGERS OF MIGRAINE?
There are several factors which lead to onset of migraine. Following are the triggers of migraine:
- Alcohol consumption
- Hormonal changes
- Excessive stress
- Loud sounds
- Strong smells
- Lack of sleep or excessive sleep
- Strenuous physical exercise
- Certain medicines like oral contraceptives, vasodilators, etc
WHAT ARE THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF MIGRAINE?
The common signs and symptoms of migraine are:
- Increased sensitivity to light and sound
- Throbbing pain in head
- Pain in one side of head
- Pain and stiffness in neck
- Feeling of nausea
- Pain in abdomen
- Loss of appetite
- Tenderness in scalp
- Sweating
- Pallor
- Light-headedness
- Blurred vision

HOW THE DIAGNOSIS OF MIGRAINE IS DONE?
The doctor will ask about the signs and symptoms of disease to the patient. He will take his family history and past medical history. He will want to know the triggers of the migraine. He will suggest some of the following tests to the patients:

MANAGEMENT OF MIGRAINE WITH THE MEDICATIONS OF CHANDIGARH AYURVED CENTRE

1. Nerve up tablet
