FACTORS ABOUT ITCHING –
- Itching is a kind of irritation in the skin that produce an urge to scratch. Itchiness is a problem that everyone experiences, and it can be localized or generalized .In medical terms , itching is known as pruritus.
- There may be several causes that cause itching . It may be as simple as due to dry skin or serious skin condition as result of bacterial and fungal infections.
- Itching may be caused due to bites and stings of animals , , allergic reactions, sun exposure and other skin disorders and health conditions.

Many natural and home remedies can help to provide relief in itching .

Aloe Vera
Aloe vera plant has been used from the ancient time as an aid to health and skin care. Aloe vera have properties like anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antiviral, and antioxidant, due to which it is widely used for skin care .
How to use it
- The clear gel that comes from the aloe leaves can be used in itching.
- It’s best to wash and dry the affected area before using aloe so that you get maximum absorption.
- Many kind of aloe preparations are available in market but it is best to use fresh gel

Turmeric –
Turmeric is one of the best herb that can be used in skin diseases. Turmeric acts as anti inflammatory , anti micobacterial agent due to which it is widely used in skin diseases . In skin diseases turmeric is not only used topicaly but you in take it orally as well . In many cosmetics ,creams , lotions that are prepared for skin problems, turmeric is used .
How to use it
- Take turmeric powder mix it honey or oil and apply on the affected area.
- Take 1 tsf of turmeric powder and 2 glass of water , boil it properly till it remains half glass and then drink this decoction.

Sandalwood
It is commonly known as Chandan, sandalwood is nature’s gift to us as it proves to be an excellent ingredient for skin care. Chandan has naturally cooling effect that helps to get rid of itching .
How to use it
- Mix sandalwood powder with lime juice apply paste on itchy area , will give relief in itching
- It can be used by mixing with rose water also.

- Coconut oil is safe to use as a moisturizer on skin and scalp. It can be applied all over the body or just on the itchy areas.
- Coconut oil can be used by mixing with camphor and apply on the itchy area to get immediate relief from the itching.

- Put 1 to 2 cups of baking soda in a tub of lukewarm water and soak. Rinse off, pat dry, and use your moisturizer.
- Make a paste with a little water and baking soda and apply to the affected area.
