INTRODUCTION
Endometriosis is a female reproductive disorder which is characterized by growth of endometrial tissue in the organs other than uterus. Normally, the endometrium is present inside the uterus. It is the innermost layer of uterus lining the uterine cavity. It grows during each menstrual cycle and then sheds off in the form of menstrual blood. In endometriosis, this layer grows inside the ovaries, fallopian tubes and inner lining of pelvis. The tissue here also grows during every menstrual cycle and then bleeds. But the blood shed doesn’t get the way out and gets trapped inside the body. This leads to formation of cysts known as endometriomas.
