Most individuals require 7 to 9 hours of sleep each night to operate normally the following day. For the next day to stay active and fresh, children and teenagers require much more sleep.
Not getting enough sleep or having poor-quality sleep is referred to as Sleep Deprivation. Lack of sleep over prolonged period of time may result in disruptive syndrome which tends to interfere with person’s usual daily activities and have a negative influence on their energy and mood. What are the stages of sleep deprivation ?
The sleep deprivation happens in stages. The stages of sleep deprivation are :
- Stage 1 : In this stage individual go at least 24 hours without sleeping and the effects are same as being under alcohol influence to the point where driving a car is not safe.
- Stage 2 : Typical signs of sleep deprivation worsen. In this stage, the majority of individuals begin to suffer micro-sleeps and struggle to concentrate or think clearly.
- Stage 3 : In this stage, individuals begin to display very severe symptoms including hallucinations. They could also find it difficult to interact with other around them.
- Stage 4 : In this stage the symptoms are extreme. It might be difficult to distinguish between what is genuine and what is hallucinatory.
