WHAT AYURVEDA SAYS ABOUT FIBROMYALGIA?
It can be compared to Vata vyadhi in Ayurveda. The vata dosha becomes vitiated as a result if excessive exposure to etiological factors like consuming unwholesome food, sleeping during day, engaging in excessive physical activities, suppressing natural urges etc. Additionally the vitiated vata dosha leads to an imbalance of kapha and pitta doshas which in turn leads to vitiation of digestive fire. Due to vitiated digestive fire there is formation of Ama in the body. This condition develops as a result of accumulated ama blocking the pathways of Mansavaha(muscle) and asthi-shandhivaha (bones and joints) together with other doshas.
